中医药是中华民族的瑰宝。党的十八大以来，习近平总书记一直关心着中医药的创新发展。在面对新冠肺炎疫情，领导中国战“疫”的伟大历程中，习近平总书记多次就中医药工作作出重要指示：“中西医结合、中西药并用，是这次疫情防控的一大特点，也是中医药传承精华、守正创新的生动实践。”　　“人民英雄国家荣誉称号”获得者、中国工程院院士张伯礼作为中央指导组专家组成员，亲历武汉和河北两次抗疫，为抗疫“中国方案”贡献了中医药力量，同时也见证了在抗击新冠肺炎疫情过程中，我国充分发挥中医药优势，为保障人民群众的健康发挥了至关重要的作用。　　为进一步弘扬中医药传统文化，讲好中国抗疫故事，天津海河传媒中心策划制作纪录片《苍生大医》，记录了张伯礼心济苍生，大医精诚的人生经历：18年前，抗击非典，他挺身而出；庚子新春，决战新冠，年过古稀的他逆向而行，在武汉奋战80多个日夜，与武汉“肝胆相照”；关键时刻他坚持中西医结合、中西药并用，为世界提供抗疫“中国方案”的信心和勇气。　　纪录片从2021年初疫情多点散发的线索切入，以故事化的创作方式，真实呈现了张伯礼人生两次请缨抗疫的故事，并运用大量珍贵影像资料回顾了张伯礼院士七十多年来在中医药现代化之路上的奋斗历程。
